Fundraising Trip for California Killer Whale Project
April 27th, 2023

Join California Killer Whale Project's CEOs Nancy Black and Alisa Schulman-Janiger, along with Research Biologist's Colleen Talty and Tomoko Shimotomai, on an All Day Trip to search for killer whales! Monterey Bay Whale Watch will gladly be hosting this trip, so sign up now!

ALTHOUGH APRIL IS A PEAK TIME FOR THE PRESENCE OF KILLER WHALES IN MONTEREY BAY, AS THEY FREQUENT THE AREA TO PREY ON GRAY WHALE CALVES, WE DO NOT SIGHT THEM DAILY.

All proceeds from this trip will GO DIRECTLY to help SUPPORT research efforts for CKWP. Nancy Black, owner and captain at Monterey Bay Whale Watch and CEO of California Killer Whale Project, has been studying California killer whales for more than 30 years in Monterey Bay.  Alisa Schulman-Janiger has been studying California killer whales and other species for 40 years primarily off southern California. Together with their research associates, they will be leading this tour and providing all the information you could possibly want to know about California orcas. This trip will be held on April 27th, 2023, leaving promptly at 8AM and returning to Monterey around 4PM.

*NOTE - THE TRIP MAY BE EXTENDED IF WE FIND KILLER WHALES AND RETURN MUCH LATER THAN 4PM.*

Ticket prices are $200. Included with your ticket: light snacks and drinks, a field guide and a logo sticker. Work by California Killer Whale Project, includes photo identification, predation behavior, general behavior, association patterns and movements, and population parameters.

Come join the killer whale experts of California for an incredible trip!
